Job Description (Project Associate -I)

Applications are invited only from Indian citizens for the following purely project based temporary positions at North-East Regional Centre, Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) of the Institute. Candidates having appropriate qualifications in relevant subject/specialization with consistently good academic record and experience may send their complete application in the prescribed format with all supporting documents (i.e. educational, experience etc.) to the undersigned by email at headnerc@gmail.com on or before 22 February, 2023. The shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview to be held on 24 February, 2023. The interview will be held through virtual/physical modes. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates appearing for the Interview.

Essential: Master degree in Forestry/ Botany/ Plant Science/ Conservation Biology/ Geography/ Environmental Science/ Remote sensing and GIS Desirable: Work experience in Remote Sensing & GIS.Experience and sound knowledge of field work in mountainous region.Data collection and database managementProficiency in field survey work/ community level consultancyPhysically fit to work in Himalayan regionBasic knowledge in R and Google Earth Engine.	Inventorization and mapping of plant species of NE Himalaya. Forest vulnerability assessment.Species distribution modelling.Establishment and monitoring of GLORIA and LTM sites. Training and capacity building events.Report and scientific manuscript writing.
02	Junior Project Fellow (JPF) @Rs. 20,000/- PM + HRA (as per rules) (01 Position) Age limit: 28 Years*	Essential: Master degree in RS & GIS/ Geography/Geology/Environmental Sciences/ Disaster Management or relevant disciplines.Work experience in Remote Sensing & GIS. Desirable: Experience and sound knowledge of field work in mountainous region.Experience in Data collection, Data compilation and database management.Data processing and Map preparation.Physically fit to work in Himalayan region.	Climate vulnerability assessment.RS & GIS-related analysis & mapping.Training and capacity building events.Report and scientific manuscript writing. 5. Other tasks as assigned. Contd..//..

*Appointment will be made initially for one year which may be extended for the next year based on satisfactory progress and performance of the candidate.
