Post-doc Technologist position – optical remote sensing of terrestrial ecosystems
The CNR-IBE (Italian National Research Council, Institute of BioEconomy) is currently searching for a Postdoctoral Technologist. This is a temporary, full-time position. The initial appointment will be for 2 years. The location is Firenze, ITALY.
CNR IBE is inviting applications for the position within the Project:
ITINERIS, ITALIAN INTEGRATED ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURES SYSTEM, ESFRI ENVIRONMENT – funded by REFORMS AND INVESTMENTS UNDER THE RECOVERY AND RESILIENCE PLAN NextGenerationEU, Mission 4 – “Education and Research” Component 2: from research to business Investment 3.1: “Fund for the realization of an integrated system of research and innovation infrastructures Action 3.1.1 “Creation of new research infrastructures strengthening of existing ones and their networking for Scientific Excellence under Horizon Europe.
Topic
The candidate will work on optical remote sensing of terrestrial ecosystems by means of a range of technologies and platform, including satellite, airborne, UAV, and ground sensors. Measurement campaigns will be performed within the WP “Terrestrial Biosphere” of the ITINERIS project and within national and international environmental infrastructures, to retrieve biophysical properties and traits of agro-ecosystems.
The candidate is expected to have strong remote sensing data processing knowledge, and possibly experimental field measurements skills.
Admission requirements
For admission to the selection, the following are required:
a) Master, Specialised or University Degree on subjects connected to the topic of the project;
b) At least three years of experience, in the acquisition, management and processing of remote sensing optical data on agro-forestry ecosystems from terrestrial/proximal, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, aerial or satellite platforms, or a PhD relevant to the topic;
c) knowledge of the English language.
