Job Description (Junior Research Fellow):

Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) sponsored project, “Algal discrimination and characterization using hyperspectral datasets of Chilika Lake, Odisha, India”under the Principal Investigator, Dr. Prem Chandra Pandey, School of Natural Sciences, Shiv Nadar University, Greater Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar, 201314 (U.P.). The position is purely temporary and is available immediately. 

Essential qualification: M.Sc. (Geo-informatics/ Environmental Sciences/ Botany) or M. Tech/ME Geo-informatics / Remote Sensing/ Environmental Engineering, or related allied subjects with qualified GATE or NET-CSIR-UGC

Desirable: Preference will be given to candidates having prior experience in data collection and data analysis of remotely sensed datasets along with Algal chlorophyll information. Knowledge and hands on wet laboratory with water parameters, and testing it in the field / lab is desirable.

Fellowship: Rs. 31,000/- pm + 8% HRA (as per DST norms).

Duration: 2 years (purely temporary).

Project Description: The project aims to collect and analyze wetlands data for algal mapping, chlorophyll, lake quality assessment using remotely sensed datasets.
